" Our only home is planet earth and the resources required for long-term life's sustainability of ourselves and our descendents is found upon this earth. As we become more educated about our physical world, and the human footprints that we instill on it each and every day, we must learn more about living within the natural limits of our planet, balance its resources between those that we consume for survival, and leave a legacy of sustainability for the betterment of the next generations to come. In an era of global economies and networks, actions of citizens, governments, and businesses connect every action with potential effects on our planet. The urban growth of a city affects water supply and gas emissions, the land use policies for agricultural affect crops and long-term environmental sustainability, and the continuing consumption of oil rips through our earth's surfaces as businesses satisfy power demands.

Satellite imagery provides a real world perspective on our historical and current habitation of earth. It is a critical ground-truth that observes our consumption and erosion of earth resources with startling clarity. Its capacity to reveal greater perspective on the land, its soil, its emission and canopy provides a wealth of insight not possible from our feet placed firmly on the earth surface. It is also the sustainable lens through which we can monitor our world for its long term betterment and survival. With high resolution, highly detailed world imagery more immediately available then ever before, satellite imagery can observe, identify, monitor, inform and educate our worldly actions. With today's near real-time satellite earth can enter into mindful management of natural resource to restore and renew our planet, our populations can make choices for urban emissions and erosion, and we can all collaborate together to preserve the world's assets. "

Geospatial is a term widely used to describe the combination of spatial software and analytical methods with terrestrial or geographic datasets. The term is often used in conjunction with geographic information systems and geomatics, never separately.

Geospatial Information and Technology is GIS ??? - Geographic Information Science and Technology

Geospatial Technology, commonly known as geomatics, refers to technology used for visualization, measurement, and analysis of features or phenomena that occur on the earth. This terminology has become common in the United States, and is synonymous with Spatial Information Technology.

Geospatial technology includes three different technologies that are all related to mapping features on the surface of the earth. These three technology systems are GPS (global positioning systems), GIS (geographical information systems), and RS (remote sensing).

According to the background of Map World Forum 2009,
Since the 1960s, Geospatial Information or Geospatial Technology has undergone a sea change, that is, from a specialized tool of analyses to a multi-purpose tool capable of not just analysis but also storage, management and visualization of data.

The integration of Geospatial Information and Technology (GIT) with a powerful medium like Internet has not only changed the way we analyse geographical information but also the way we live and function. Today, Geospatial Information and Technology (GIT) has spread its wings far and wide. Its applications range from defence, management of natural resources, utilities and infrastructure management, to emergency planning and relief operations, governance, urban development etc.Hence, keeping the popularity of GIT for multifarious applications in perspective, one can safely say that Geospatial Information and Technology (GIT) will not only power the businesses of tomorrow but will also become a formidable driving force for the global economy in the coming decades.

AGDC mendukung pemanfaatan dan sharing data/informasi spasial antar berbagai institusi baik pemerintah, swasta, Lembaga Swadaya Masyarakat dari dalam maupun luar negeri yang turut serta dalam proses pembangunan di Provinsi Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam.

Gempa Bumi di Jogja dan Jawa Tengah..semakin membangkitkan semangat spasial..memaknai ilmu kebumian dan pendalaman mengenai arti geografi...

The changes in atmospheric concentration of green house gases and aerosols, in solar radiation and land surface properties have altered the energy balance of the climate system of the earth. The increase in green house gases is primarily due to fossil fuel use, land use changes and agriculture. In order to understand the causes of change and their likely impact, the observation needs to encompass atmosphere (cloud properties, radiative energy fluxes, precipitation, aerosol properties, wind, humidity, temperature, etc), atmospheric chemistry, solar radiation, land (land cover, land use changes, vegetation dynamics, soil moisture, etc), ocean (temperature, salinity, phytoplankton, sea surface wind, sea surface topography) and cryosphere (land ice, sea ice, snow cover). During the last thirty years, host of satellites have provided very useful data on many of the above mentioned parameters. Microwave radiometers and optical multispectral data have provided vital data on changes in ice cover on polar regions and glacier retreat on Himalayas. Altimeters provided data on sea-level-rise and on ocean circulation especially during the last fifteen years. Thermal radiometers provided data on rise of sea surface temperature. The growth and decay of ozone hole over the years has been monitored by satellites. It is necessary to evolve a measurement strategy (overlap, sampling, calibration and data continuity) to improve accuracy and scientific content for future satellites.

GIS atau SIG sebuah sistem yang luar biasa dalam melakukan manajemen data yang memiliki informasi spasial dan non-spasial (tabular) terangkum dalam satu wadah...
Wadah tersebut dikenal dengan nama Geodatabase..sebuah wadah, gudang untuk menampung database atau basisdata terikat ke dalam referensi geografis, spasial dalam ruang koordinat.

apa itu dengue??

dengue ialah demam berdarah...penyakit yang disebabkan oleh virus dengue yang dibawa oleh nyamuk Aedes aegypti..

kata "dengue" berasal dari bahasa swahili yaitu "Ka-dinga pepo" yang berarti penyakit yang disebabkan oleh roh jahat.

penyakit demam berdarah dengue (DBD) ini umumnya terjadi di wilayah tropis dan biasanya terjadi outbreak di musim penghujan...
